YAY!!! I did it. I did it! My first week in 3 weeks that I have been under budget. WAY under budget. Last week I just made it at my budget thankfully from survey money.
This week I knew that we didn’t need anything but fruit and dairy. If you are new to this series you can check out my previous weekly budget trips here.
This week I did not need any meat because last week I hit a great deal at Tops and my husband is a hunter so I have venison meat as well.
Tops Markets:
*Note that I got a deal on the Loreal you can read here so I subtracted that amount from my total because I will take money out of our personal care budget. Which with coupons I very rarely buy. I just had to stock up now because we are finally after a year down to 1 or 2 bottles. With doing that deal first I was able to use my catalina on my food purchase!
2 Keebler Fudge Shoppe Cookies B1G1 $3.69- Now I bought these for the first time a few weeks ago when I had a $0.70/1 coupon. and I LOVED the red velvet. So I figured I would get them again this week to save on milk. But this is something we don’t usually buy. I would prefer to make home made but once in awhile I love the conveince of prepackaged goodies!
I used the $1 on a gallon of milk when you buy 2 Keebler Cookies coupon found in store.
Skim Milk $3.49- after coupon $2.49
2 cans of Valu Time Tuna– $1.38 ( $0.69 each)
1 Newton Fig Bars $2.50- used a $1 on fresh fruit coupon peelie
2 lbs of Kiwi- $4.99- after coupon from above $3.99
2 bunches of Bananas-$2.78 ( $0.49/lb.) I used the 20% off Bananas with Savingstar offer here after discount-$2.22
Red Grapes $3.10 ( $1.99/lb.)
Sweet Baking Potatoes $3.34 ( $0.99/lb.)
2 3 lb. bags of Gala Apples $4.99 ( $2.50 each)
Iceburg Lettuce $1.99
Tops 1 lb. Butter $2.99
Tops Half n Half $2.49
Tops Extra Large Eggs B1G1 $2.79- $1.40 each
I used the catalina mentioned above for the Loreal Deal- except I received a $1.50 and I don’t know if it is because I got a styler instead of conditioner or shampoo.
I used a $5 off a $35 purchase Tops Store Coupon
I earned $0.20 off a gallon of gas from this week and last weeks shopping. I will need gas the end of the week. We will fill my car and part of my husband’s truck to get my 30 gallons. Your store experience may vary on this.
So after all my discounts & savings: $17.58- NOW this makes me very happy!
This is why planning and waiting for sales are so important. So you can stock up use what you have and than just buy the essentials!
*Note that items mentioned in the menu are from previous weeks of stocking up.

It almost doesn’t seem real! I am really curious to come back and look at my monthly spend on groceries now that I am holding myself accountable.
